About Property:
Our tranquil treehouse styled home is built on the stilts and is a two-storey haven of sustainable living amidst nature’s beauty! This rustic wooden retreat offers a blend of modern comfort and timeless charm using reclaimed and recycled wood and bamboo, our home promises not only an eco-friendly stay but also a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
There’s ample parking space with the property and a 100 Mbps Wi-Fi connection.
About Space:
The place is located in a quiet little village named Umagarh in Ramgarh Nalla, nearly 50 mins drive from Nainital, 40 mins from Mukteshwar and 40 mins to Neem Karoli Baba Ashram.
Ramgarh is called the fruit bowl of kumaon and you will find many fruit orchards near the proerty.
– The home is made up with pallet wood and is a paradise for nature lovers. No trees were harmed anyway in its construction directly or indirectly barring the decades old wood which we got from scrap dealers and have re-purposed into this treehouse (Else it could have been burnt to produce more heat and pollution)
– The last 500 meter road to the house is unmetalled but the house is accessible by cars (taken they are driven by decent drivers). The road also crosses a small stream in between, please pause here and feel the mountains. (Our caretaker’s home is along side, there is a little decades old mandir as well that’s highly worshipped by the villagers , ask the caretaker about this secret once your are well settled)
This very road makes the village a quaint and secluded one 🙂
– This place is on the boundary of a miles long forest , in middle of the valley, with a river stream just below, and windy all the time and hence its cold throughout the year, like the mountains are meant to be! we have sufficient heaters to take care of you .
– We have 2-3 hours of power back-up, sometimes due to bad weather (or w/o it) power outage may happen.
– Please note that this is a homestay and we try to offer all comforts, yet this place is secluded and far from commercialization so managing this place isn’t easy. We make all the efforts to make your stay enjoyable, yet I am sure you would understand we can’t offer the luxuries a resort can provide, please do not compare us with the ultra modern and ultra luxe stays.
-Our caretaker will be happy to show you around the village that has abundant fruit orchards including apple, peach, apricot, plum and walnut trees. If you happen to visit
He can also organize pristine nature trails and treks for you if you are an adventurous soul.
Guest access
Guests have access to the whole property including both rooms, Balconies with amazing views of snow clad peaks, river stream , valley, Kitchen, Farms, Cedar, Pine and Oak trees filled miles long jungle ahead.
This is a Treehouse styled minimalistic Home. There are largely two rooms in teo floors with attached bathrooms. The ground floor one is wheel-chair + Senior citizen accessible, while reaching the above floor requires climbing 15 stairs. The ground floor room also has attached full-fledged kitchen and a small sitting/living area with a small sofa cum bed.
The upper floow has a large balcony in place of the kitchen.
For a booking of 2 or 3 heads, guests will be provided a large suite room with an option of an extra sofa cum bed/bunk bed. We usually are able to cater to one group at at time and that would mean the other rooms stays vacant and locked in case you have booked for 2/3 guests. Yet in very rare cases, we might host two groups at a time
The Kitchen is sufficiently stocked with utensils and cookware and guests can cook on their own.
Food arrangements –
You can choose amongst the two options:
1- you can carry your own groceries and can cook for yourself. The caretaker can bring you the things you need from the nearby market which shall take him roughly 45 mins to go and come back, so request him accordingly, Groceries have to be paid for by guests .
2. You can order from the small menu that the caretaker will cook at his own home that is 200 m away after he gets the items needed from the market.(b/f is prepeared usually at stay itself if you so desire) and serve you in Tiffins/Plates.
Therefore if your plans for food are certain, letting the caretaker know in advance will always help 🙂
Other Things to Note:
-For a booking of 2 or 3 guests, only one of the rooms will be made available.
-The last 500 meter road to the house is unmetalled, away from the main road, but the house is accessible by cars(taken they are driven by experienced drivers)
-Please understand, while at the property, you may encounter some insects or birds and that as you’re sharing the grounds with them too as we are surrounded by the forest. We try to avoid their visits but they have their own minds 🙂
-Our caretaker is a simple man. He can prepare basic home cooked meals only. If you wish to cook on your own, please ensure that you are carrying your own grocery.
-If you find that the house isn’t as clean as you had expected or if you have specific preferences or requests during your stay, He’s more than willing to make changes according to your needs, ensuring that your experience at our house is tailored to your liking.
– Water we get in hills is mineral rich and with us getting used to the pollution in the cities, our body may repulse the minerals, specially the kids. Though we have a water filter installed, in case you are travelling with kids, please carry water bottles (and please carry the empty ones back to the city).
-We are sharing our home with you that is invested with a lot of love and with folded hands we request you to keep it just like your own 🙂
